HERA :: UV MIST CUSHION

Hello lovelies! Today I am reviewing a BB Cushion that I have been REALLY LOVING and cannot stop using! :O

I've had this cushion for a while now and it is so effortless to use and therefore I really wanted to review it for you guys! :D

The product is the Hera UV Mist Cushion which i've heard a lot about previously but never purchased. This is my first ever Hera product and it doesn't disappoint!

What are the Features?

*A multi-function sunblock foundation that works as a mist, foundation and sunblock to brighten and cool down the skin for skin that’s dewy and glowing.

Mineral clay water contains microscopic clay, which is found in icy seawater and is smaller than fog particles. It is used in place of purified water to enhance hydration in the skin through control of osmotic pressure to help lessen impurities, remove dead skin cells and excess sebum to keep the skin clean, clear and moisturised. In addition, it contains 30% mineral clay water that cools down the skin temperature as soon as it touches the skin to leave the skin feeling refreshed.

What colours are available?

Unfortunately, like most asian brands, HERA only have a limited range of colours available for their BB Cushions!

*To create more natural looking skin..

Choose the N series to create a natural, yet clear, dewy and shining skin. If you want to cover skin imperfections, put a good amount of the C series on the puff and dab it on any imperfections to create clear, flawless skin.*

If you are looking for a brand that provides a better colour range then Laneige is a great option since they have 5 colours to choose from.

Now time for my photos of the actual product! 

My shade is: C21 which is the higher coverage option! 

I was super excited to try this product because of the Mineral Clay Water which has many benefits stated in the features section and also helps enhance hydration which is a main factor for my dry skin!

The BB Cream feels cool on the skin when applying and is a semi-thick type of formula, not thin or watery, therefore it provides a medium-full coverage and is very pigmented.

I tested the product by applying it on one side of my face only to compare the difference. The left side of this image has the bb cushion on whilst the right side is bare with just skincare products on.

1. My complexion is visibly brighter with reduced redness around my cheeks which are quite red on the bare side. 
2. The coverage is very good for a BB Cushion since it has managed to cover my dark circles pretty well and I will need only a slight bit of concealer on top. 
3. My pores are typically largest around my cheeks where I have redness and this cushion has blurred my pores out, making them appear smaller and less visible. 
4. The BB cream dries to a semi-matte/velvety finish which doesn't really need any powder since it's not overly dewy and just gives a natural glow on the skin. 

What the BB Cushion looks like on my whole face

WHAT I LIKE:

• This BB cushion has gorgeous packaging!, i really like the silvery purple hue instead of the typical white casing. 
• The box comes with a refill which is always great because I don't have to worry about it running out just yet! xD
• SPF50 & PA+++! Most cushions provide the same protection nowadays, but its just one less thing to worry about in the morning when you're in a hurry!
• The bb cushion provides a lot of coverage in a thin layer which feels light on the skin yet still looks natural with a slight glow.
• The cushion is also cooling on the skin so it will be nice to use in warmer environments to help soothe the skin. 
• The finish is very natural even though it is in the shade C21 and feels very soft to touch, not sticky like some BB Cushions that provide Dewy finishes. 

WHAT I DISLIKE:

• The product has high coverage however it isn't as moisturising as it claims.. On some days when my skin is quite dry, the cushion highlights my dry patches.. making them super visible and not a pretty look.. >_<
• The packaging, even though it is super pretty, is slightly thicker than my Laneige bb compact so therefore it takes up more room in my drawer.
• The shade C21 is my usual go-to shade for bb cushions, however this HERA one seems slightly too light for my skin tone; which isn't a major issue, but I thought I would mention it anyway!

KIKO Milano HAUL // REVIEW

I went to Meadowhall the other week and saw that they had opened a new KIKO store! =O.. of course I was super excited since the only other KIKO Milano near me is in Leeds; so I had to go in ! And this is what I came out with! =p

The first thing I wanted to get my hands on was the "Crystal Fusion - Moisture Enhancing Face Serum".  This is a new product and also Limited Edition; but the best part was that it was 50% off! So I got it for £7.90 instead of £15.90! =D

Super easy to dispense and the serum is tinted blue.

What Is It?

The serum is tinted blue and comes out in a gel form

The gel is thicker than typical serums and is slightly sticky at first
(tested this for a week on my own face)

Once it is absorbed it no longer feels sticky.
It leaves a sheen on the skin and feels rather silky and smooth.

The serum is very easy to blend and smooth over the face and absorbs within a few seconds so the stickiness doesn't last long. Since the gel is thicker than other serums it makes my skin feel more hydrated than current serums I own. I apply my argan oil on top of this serum and this combination has been super for my face! No dry patches all week! =D 

[[Edit!:: I have been using this serum for over 2weeks now and hands down!, this is one of the best serums I have ever tried! My face has become smoother in texture, no bumpyness or dryness, and my skin feels hydrated all day and throughout the night. Applying my makeup is such a dream now without random flaky patches showing up! Absolutely in love with this and defo will repurchase!! :D]]

This second purchase was actually recommended by my friend. She already has two shades and was about to buy another two! So I wanted to see why she liked it so much :)

What Is It?

Not a very good picture of the colours but both eyeliners are very wearable and good for everyday use. Easy to apply and the colours are very pigmented and longlasting. Sometimes I use the beige as an eyeshadow base and the golden rose to highlight my inner corners. The plum looks more like a dark brown in most lighting.. The formula is smooth and creamy and reminds me of Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliners! They are a bit soft so don't apply too much pressure otherwise the tip will break off. 

The last thing I bought was this "Night Balm". I have been a sole KORRES Lip Butter user for many years now, but this year I feel like it hasn't been enough for my lips and I wake up with Chapped lips...Maybe because I have a mini heater on.. But I decided to buy it anyway to try. 

Nourishing Lip Balm with no colour, however it smells a bit waxy?

However I feel this type of texture provides a thick layer of moisture whilst you sleep.
Has helped my lips to keep hydrated and I wake up with smoother lips now! =D

That is all the products I bought from KIKO! It isn't the first time trying their products so I knew I would enjoy these items as much as the others! I think KIKO have a really good price range (its literally drugstore prices) but with better quality products and a larger range of items!

Overall I am very pleased with my purchases, and I know I will make good use out of them all.

Soap & Glory:: Supercat Liner & 2 in 1 Archery Brow Pencil

Hey guys! Today I am reviewing my first ever Soap & Glory purchases that I have been testing for nearly a month now. 

I have heard a lot of good things about Soap & Glory cosmetics and have always been interested in trying them. One of these products I Love, and the other I think is a Pass.. Keep reading to find out which is which! 

Here is the two products side by side. The Supercat liner is almost the same size as your average felt tip pen, so it puts into perspective how thin the archery brow pencil is. (May be difficult to hold for some, but it is thin for a reason; find out later!) 

Firstly, lets take a look at some close ups of the Supercat liner.

As you can see, it literally looks just like a black felt tip liner! The nib and the tip is bigger than most eyeliners; therefore it is designed to create thicker lines. If this is what you're looking for then great!, however if you are wanting a precise line, you may want to opt for a different product. Not that this eyeliner can't create thin lines, but it may be more difficult for you to achieve it fast. 

The one thing I REALLY dislike about most liquid eyeliners is how easy the lid falls off and ends up drawing all over the inside of your makeup bag! However the Supercat has a design feature to stop this. As you can see from the image above highlighted in red, there is a ridge that bevels up quite high, and this is how the lid stays PUT. It stays So put that it can be difficult to remove at times. THUMBS UP.

Going back to what I previously said about it being able to achieve thin lines, heres how thin it can go! Pretty much similar to other thin-tip eyeliner pens. 

And this is compared to how thick it can get too which is pretty bold and a lot thicker than anyone would probably ever apply it (i think). 

The downside of this, (if you haven't noticed already) is that the liquid actually bleeds into small crevices and gaps in the skin. Which may be due to the amount of pressure I applied on, but if you're the type of person who puts pressure down to do their eyeliner, you may get the same result, which isn't very pretty if it bleeds into wrinkles etc.

The liner actually dries like the image above, which is a glossy finish and not matte. Some may like this, some may not. 

Personally; I don't like this type of finish because it isn't bold enough for most of the looks i like to wear. 

Next product is the Archery Brow pencil. There are two types of Soap & Glory 'archery' brow products. The first edition of the archery included a felt-tip side to draw on brow hairs, this one doesn't have the felt tip but a wax tip which creates a softer look. 

The reason the packaging of this brow pencil is so thin is because it consists of a really fine wax tip which is able to create thin and precise lines to mimic brow hairs and gently define the brows. The tip can be twisted up and down to prevent it from breaking.

The colour of this pencil is in the shade 'Hot Chocolate' and this is what it looks like. I drew on a few layers to show how dark the colour can get (which isn't that dark so it is suitable for all shades of brown hair). 

The other side of the product is a spooly brush to blend the pencil out and make the look softer. You can also use the spooly to brush your brow hairs first before drawing them on for a neater look. 

The image shows the liner by itself and then the liner brushed out with the spooly. It creates a feathered look and softens the appearance of it which is more suitable for daily makeup looks. 

WHAT DO I THINK?: 

Firstly I really enjoy using the Soap & Glory 2in1 brow filler and brush, I think this eyebrow pencil is one of the best ones I have tried out of various drugstore ones. The colour matches my hair really well, and I like how I can alter the intensity of my brows my just applying more layers or by brushing it out with the spooly. 

The thin tip is also great in mimicking really fine brow hairs unlike other pencils with a thick tip which ends up applying too much colour. It also lasts all day and even in humid environments without fading or smudging off. Definitely a new love! :) 

On the other hand, the Supercat liner is definitely not a product I would repurchase again. I have tried A lot of eyeliners from both western and asian brands and I have to say this doesn't really stand up to most of the ones I already have. 

I prefer my eyeliners to have a jet black matte finish with no sheen which unfortunately this one has, so straight away this was already a no-no for me. But the main thing that put me off was actually the lasting power of this liner, it was very easy to smudge and smear on my eyes. Im not sure if this would happen to everyone; maybe its just my eyes? But I stopped using it after 3 tries.. such a waste :( 

My drugstore go-to liquid eyeliner would be the L'Oreal Super liner. I have been using that for a few years now and I still haven't changed it, although I do prefer asian brands but they're just a lot harder to get hold of being in the UK.

LANEIGE ~ BB Cushion (Pore Control)

After having tried my first ever BB Cushion (IOPE); I had always wanted to try out the Laneige one as I heard it was one of the better BB cushions out in the market; and I was finally able to get it during my Singapore trip!

What colours are available?

Unlike other asian brands that have only 2-3 colour choices, Laneige has a good range of colours to suit different skin tones and mostly all with a beige undertone that asian women have.

Here are some pictures of the actual product.

The BB Cream has a very fine consistency - like water, unlike BB Creams in a tube which comes out quite thick. Using the puff makes it really quick to apply and blends really well.
The BB Cream provides a medium-full coverage depending on how many layers you apply and is very pigmented; I only pressed my puff twice on the cushion to cover half of my face.

To truly see the effects of this product I covered the left half of my face with the Pore Control BB Cream and kept the right side bare with just some moisturiser on ~ I only applied one layer of product for a more natural look:

(Please excuse my messy appearance and the wonky line.. lol)

1. My face appears instantly brighter and more even in complexion; the BB cream also did a good job at covering my dark circles which is quite visible on the bare side.
2. I have quite big pores on my cheeks but these were definitely minimised with the use of this product as they seemed smaller. 
3. The finish is semi-matte and reflects a bit of light for a healthier look. I much prefer this finish compared to the IOPE BB Cushion which was a bit too dewy for me. 

WHAT I LIKE:

• I have always been a BB Cream girl rather than a foundation girl; therefore I love the powder-compact style and how easy it is to use and to travel with. The packaging is also thinner than i expected so it takes up less room in my makeup bag. 
• I like how Laneige provide a refill with the product which is good value for the price. 
• This product gives a lot of coverage but doesn't feel heavy on the skin, this also means the cushion will last longer because you won't need to use a lot of product.
• I really love the finish of this bb cream as it is very natural and healthy looking. 

WHAT I DISLIKE:

• The only thing I don't really like is the puff - i have never really liked using sponges/puffs to apply wet products like foundations or bb creams because I always think bacteria will grow since it is damp and it's then confined in a compact which can promote more bacteria growth.. therefore I wash my puff very often which can be a bit annoying since I have to wait for it to dry as well. 
• I have tried using my hands to apply the cream but I do not recommend it as it is not even and looks streaky.
