BROWsatin && FITme Concealer

..Maybelline..

BROWsatin - light
FITme - Shade 10

1. FITme Concealer

Simple to use Doe foot applicator with a long wand to get to the base of the tube.

A swatch on some tissue shows it has a slight orangey tone (good for covering dark circles!)

Shade seems too dark when swatched on my hand...

...But looks quite accurate when next to my face!

2. BROWsatin

Easy to use double ended brow pencil!
Firstly, the pencil..

Twist-up/Retractable tip ensures it is always sharp and ready to use

Use with a light hand to create a hint of colour, and apply more pressure for a bolder effect

The other end..
Sponge applicator tip with brow powder inside the lid

Smooth and silky finish and in the same shade as the pencil which blends in much better than using separate items!

..PRODUCTS IN USE..

BAREFACED

1. Concealer used on the Right side of the face to show the difference of with and without the concealer.

2. Applied 3 dots of concealer under the remaining eye.

 3. Concealer blended and visibly reduced the appearance of my dark circles! (LOVE)

4. Using the pencil side of the BROWsatin to fill in sparse hairs.

5. Next, use the sponge side to blend everything together for a smoother look.

INSTANTLY look more awake and put-together by just using two products! ^__^

Close-Up with a Full face of makeup (natural lighting)

Brow colour matches my hair colour very well! :D (with flash)

CONCLUSION::

  • Absolutely loveee these two purchases from Maybelline!
  • The concealer is very smooth and not too runny which can make it sheer, or too thick that it can be cakey.
  • Concealer covers my dark circles pretty well without needing a second layer.
  • Brow pencil is easy to use and very handy! - no need to find a brow powder. :)
  • The lightest shade matches my hair colour well - however it may not be suitable for people with lighter hair..
All in all..LOVE.

PARTYYYY..!

Last week I was invited to attend a freshers party in Birmingham! The dress code was 'Back to School' though I didn't see many people dressed up! However, me and two other girlfriends dressed the theme! xD I couldn't record a 'Get Ready with Me' video on my makeup because I forgot my camera :(, but i'll show you guys some selfies of it! XD

 *Freshly done makeup in Natural Lighting*

*2-3hours later in Artificial Lighting with my hair done ~
(looks like i'm wearing contacts but I'm not xD)*

*My outfit for the theme! ~
Zara shirt, H&M bow, Dresslink shorts, New Look heels, Michael Kors watch..*

It has been a year since I have been to any parties, so I was superrr excited! XD It's not so much the party that excites me, as the venue was really good but after a while its all the same! But spending time with a bunch of friends and all going crayy is the best part x) However I was the weakest as I was the first one to go home>< but I think I did well since it has been A WHILE lol. Can't wait for the next party which is Halloween! Wonder what i'll dress up as... :D

Hope all you freshers enjoy this time of the year as it is the only time to really let yourself go and have fun! But please make sure you're all safe!!, and stick close to your friends and please don't drink&drive! >_< (sorry for being all mumsie on you, can't help it now that I am an actual mummy! lol xD)

Thanks for reading, speak to you all soon!^^

Product Review: MAYBELLINE ~ BLACK SHOCK GEL LINER

Welcome back to my blog!, today I am reviewing the Maybelline, Lasting Drama ~ Black Shock Gel Liner!
This product has been out for a while and is pretty much like the Benefit Push Up Gel liner which has had a lot of hype! However I do not want to pay more for the Benefit one if the drugstore version is good enough for me.

I have always preferred gel liner over liquid or pencil as it can provide lasting results with intense colour payoff, and I also find it easier to apply; so when I saw this product I bought it straight away! x) I have been testing it throughout the summer so I think I can speak about this product pretty well :)

WHAT MAYBELLINE SAYS::

The first true gel liner in a compact pen that features a unique no-wax, smudge-proof formula, and a flexible silicon applicator for easier application. With its special twist-click mechanism, gel is dispensed only when twisted, preventing the gel formula from drying up.

- Easy to use
- No-wax formula
- Compact size to fit any purse
- Smudge-proof
- Suitable for oily lids
- Fuss-free

WHAT I LIKE::
  • Long Lasting
  • Jet Black Colour
  • Smooth Formula
  • Waterproof
  • Sweat proof
  • Doesn't Smudge/Melt
  • Can create both Thin and Thick Lines

WHAT I DISLIKE::
  • Can be time consuming to get use to
  • Creasy looking (see photos above)
  • Slightly difficult to remove
  • Once set, can be tough to alter

As you can see from above, there are more pro's than con's; but the con's aren't that extreme anyway :)

So lets talk about the pros first and why I really, like this product!

Like i said earlier, I tested this product throughout summer, and this year was especially HOT! So I put the product up to test on these humid, hot days to see how it lasts, and the results were amazing!

The formula was soo smooth and buttery to apply and every application feels like a new pot of gel liner (if you know what I mean) because pot liners can sometimes dry out over time and become cakey to apply; but this wasn't the case. However I do find that it is better to clean the 'old' liner from the tip before twisting more gel liner out for a smoother application.

Once applied, the liner takes a few seconds to dry (thicker lines take a bit longer), but once it is dry, it is SET for the whole day! It doesn't budge or smudge, and I have even done exercise with this on and it still stayed put! (pretty impressed xD) Hence my pros being: Long lasting, waterproof and sweat proof!

The silicone tip is unique but allows you to create both thin lines and thick lines by spreading the gel out before it drys and sets, but it is pretty simple to do with practise! :)

A big Pro for me was how intense the colour is. I always choose liners that are very pigmented as I prefer having bold eyeliner, and I think if i wanted less pigmentation I would just go for a black eyeshadow to line my eyes. This liner is definately True Black as you can see from my pictures so if that is what you're looking for, go ahead and try this out :)

Okay, now lets speak about the Cons!..

Gel liner in a pen form is new to me and I haven't tried anything similar in the past before, so as you can imagine, I had to practise with this a few times before I got use to it!

The silicone tip is realllyyyy flexible and soft, which is the main reason it was difficult to get use to, because it isn't like a brush or a felt-tip liquid liner where you can apply some pressure to it; with this one, you have to be gentle otherwise gel just squirts out of the tip...>__< You also have to be quite fast with this liner, as once it is set, it is SET and will be difficult to correct and change! So go Slowww, so you don't make an error :)

A con that I mentioned was that it looks 'creasy'.. now from my experience, this only happens when you 'go over' the same area again with the liner, so when you apply a second layer or fill in an area you missed. This is quite difficult to avoid but can only be seen when looking closely at the lid..other than that, it doesn't really affect the benefits.

Now because of its long lasting power, it is slightly more difficult to remove in comparison to other gel liners which are pretty easy.. therefore this is my last con for this product! I have tested various methods to remove this and I have found that the easiest and the way that prevents tugging around the eye area is by using Makeup Wipes, especially one that is slightly oil-based. I recommend Johnson's Face Care Makeup Wipes :)

CONCLUSION::

I have always liked the quality of Maybelline products and especially since they are a drugstore brand I think they're doing great!
The Lasting Drama Black Shock Gel liner is one of my faves from Maybelline and I will continue to use it but only for looks that need to last All Night since everyday makeup looks don't need such a strong lasting liner. But it is definitely a product to have in your makeup collection! :)

I hope this review has been helpful and I definitely recommend to try this product out before splashing out on Benefit Push Up Liner just incase you don't like the concept of applying gel liner in a pen form! :)

I have a video on my YouTube channel that summarise all these points I have mentioned in this post and it also includes a little demonstration of how I apply this product to create a winged eyeliner look! Go ahead to my channel or watch below to see how I do it!

Thanks for reading and I'll speak to you all soon! Have a great day! ^__^

WOHOO! Hiii!

HELLO! I finally have internet again!!..If you guys didn't know, we have just moved into our own flat so I was busy cleaning and moving all our stuff over! And it has been over 3weeks now since I have been in contact with the outside world! >_<" (not literally xD) But seriously, it felt like I lived in a cave...I didn't have a TV for over a week and my fiancé has been using my car everyday so life has been pretty dull and boring...zzZZ.

I am happy to be back though and finally up and running again! :D Look how small the routers are nowadays!, its sooo cute! xD

So what has been keeping me occupied? Definitely arranging and rearranging, and rearranging the whole flat! haha! I think its finally at a position where i'm happy where everything is ^_^. The beginning of this month was fun because I actually went to the Peak District with some close friends for a few days! It was good to be in the countryside, in peace, quietness and fresh air! We really take nature for granted and I wish I was back there again.. When we got back, it was my birthday! And I had a surprise dinner with my friends arranged by my fiancé which was really nice since I was just expecting it to be me and him! :)

A few pictures of my birthday presents! ~~

**A video will be up soon to tell you guys a bit about each of these presents! ^__^**

Two days after my birthday was Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival! (Such an exiting week for me xD) This festival was always a big thing in our family, and back in Hong Kong, my family actually celebrated by decking out the whole house with lanterns!..

I wish i was there!..But here in UK, its just the usual moon cake eating! :p

I didn't manage to buy any for the actual Moon Festival, but i bought some the other day :)

These are Snowy Mooncakes, which are meant to be eaten cold. (Soo yummy, kind of like Ice-cream mochi! :D)
L - Mango Flavour
R - Black Sesame Flavour
I preferred the black sesame one, it wasn't as sweet but the mango one was still nice :)

So this pretty much sums up this month!, hopefully more exciting things to come since it will soon be my fiancé's birthday soon! keke..^__^

Thanks for reading guys, speak to you all soon!
